Q&A with Avi Beneson , First Vice President, Finance and Accounting

 

 

Tell me a little bit about your role at BHI? 

​

I try to do a little of everything. I manage the operational accounting team for BHI. Along with the standard debits, credits and reconciliations, I also look after the budgeting and forecasting, management reporting, external audits and tax prep, expense management, SOX 404, and accounting/branch projects. I also try to utilize my network to do a little business development on the side. 

 

What do you like best about your job? About BHI? 

​

From the early onset of the customer onboarding process, to reviewing transactional details, to managing the auditor and regulatory inquiries, I love being able to see and be a part of the whole banking cycle. This allows me to offer unique insights that can help the bank across multiple teams and situations.  

​

BHI, aside from the truly great people working alongside me, fosters an entrepreneurial atmosphere with a great vision for the US.

What did you do prior to joining BHI?

​

Prior to joining BHI, I managed the Finance and Ops team at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in New York.  

 

What are your goals for 2022? 

​

As BHI continues to grow and expand its capabilities in 2022, my goals for myself and my team are to uphold our high standard of control, while at the same time continuing to support the growth of the business and the management team as a true finance business partner. 

 

 

 

Q&A with Sabrina Mirpuri, Assistant Vice President, Strategy and Planning

Tell me a little bit about your role at BHI?

​

As the Enterprise Project Management Officer at BHI, my role ensures strategic alignment between business/operational objectives and projects executed. I focus on product development as well as the implementation of new systems that increase our efficiency or generate more business.  

​

What do you like best about your job? About BHI? 

​

My job allows me to interact with every area of the bank, and I love that the role allows me to develop both creative and analytical skills. BHI granted me the opportunity to develop a project management methodology for our entire U.S. operation and also allowed me to not only participate but also lead strategic decisions and budgets related to our priorities.  

 

At BHI, no matter what level you are, they recognize your value and they invest in your potential. The C-Suite preaches an open door policy and all the executives, including the CEO, have supported my ambitions by sponsoring my MBA program at NYU Stern as well as granted me recognition awards, like Rookie of the Year in 2019 and MVP of the year in 2021. 

  

What did you do prior to joining BHI? 

​

Right after undergrad, I joined Capco as a management consultant. At Capco, I learned all the technical skills a Project Manager should have and also managed client relationships, which further helped develop my professionalism. Through my experience at Capco and relationships I built, I am able to add real value to BHI and enact change. 

  

What are your goals for 2022? 

​

My goals for 2022 are all about automation. I aim to support implementation  of new systems and platforms and expedite internal processes related to customer experience.
